Unboxed: 'About Us' Live at the Tower of London

The Challenge

A live choral performance and large-scale projection on the walls of the Tower of London, streamed worldwide from the heart of one of the UK’s busiest visitor locations.

For UNBOXED, we filmed and live streamed a performance of About Us from the Tower of London, producing a multi-camera broadcast designed for audiences watching across Facebook Live, Instagram and other social channels. The production combined coverage of the performance itself with an introduction, Q&A and audience contributions, creating a broader piece of live content that captured both the work on stage and the response around it.

The Method

A six-camera approach enabled us to cover a variety of angles and shot sizes, creating a dynamic and cinematic viewing experience while retaining the immediacy of a live event. Extensive pre-production and a technical recce allowed us to work closely with the UNBOXED team and partners at 59 Productions, carefully balancing camera positions and production requirements with the experience of the live audience. Specialist live sound capture was also used to bring the performance, including the choir and other performers, directly to the online audience.
