The Play What I Wrote
The 90-minute live capture of The Play What I Wrote at The Theatre Royal, Bath, for BBC Four.
We were incredibly excited to work with the team at Birmingham Repertory Theatre to bring The Play What I Wrote to the small screen for BBC Four.
The 90-minute production was captured live at The Rep using a five-camera multi-camera setup, with camera direction and vision mixing by Maria Needle. The aim was to preserve the pace, timing and energy of the stage show while translating it into a polished broadcast experience for television audiences.
The cast featured Thom Tuck, Dennis Herdman and Mitesh Soni, with Tom Hiddleston in the guest-starring role.
It was a real privilege to help capture such a joyful production for BBC Four and to work alongside The Rep on a project that brought the immediacy of live theatre to a much wider audience. Also great to get to hang out with Tom Hiddleston!
