Four films. Four Ambassadors. One nationwide programme.
The Challenge
Working in collaboration with The Space, we created a series of four celebratory microfilms documenting the impact of Sky Arts’ two-year Ambassador programme, which supported and nurtured grassroots creative talent across the UK. The films centred on four leading cultural figures — Bernardine Evaristo, Charles Hazlewood, Akram Khan and Nadia Fall — each of whom took a different approach to mentoring the next generation of artists. Method in Motion oversaw production, with The Space acting as executive producer.
The Method
Each film focused on a different artform, Ambassador and group of mentees, using intimate interviews and visually striking, cinematic footage to bring the personal stories behind the programme to life. Particular emphasis was placed on identifying transformative stories and compelling contributors, allowing emerging artists to articulate the difference the bursary schemes had made to their creative development.
What We Delivered
Four 5–6 minute films created for broadcast on Sky Arts, with three-minute and one-minute edits made for digital distribution, corporate events and presentations. The content demonstrated the programme’s nationwide reach, combining authentic, people-led storytelling with a polished broadcast aesthetic.
